Horizon concept design
Concept design of a 115m general cargo ship with near-zero emissions. Powered by wind propulsion and e-methanol fuel cells. Designed to be wind ready. Efficiency at the forefront of design.
Cutting-edge ship design
Starting from a blank sheet of paper, the Infinity class ship was designed with no compromises. The design objective was to cut emissions to near-zero, thereby drastically reducing the operational cost of running the ship. Tackling all the possible areas for efficiency holistically is the only way of delivering this dream. Therefore hydrodynamics, aerodynamics, powering, seakeeping, and structural arrangement were all investigated in depth for improvements, all adding up to a commercially viable design.
Digital twin modelling
To pin down the commercially viable technologies, a virtual model of the maritime environment and the ship was created. This model was built on the high-fidelity technology stack, adding route analysis, and importantly the economic analysis of the ship. This key tool guided the ship development, ensuring that the areas with the biggest portential gains were tackled first, all quanitified in dollar terms.
